What is Cosmetic Acupuncture?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the face reflects a person's energy and emotional history. The skin is a reflection of our internal organs. It is the body's largest organ, and imbalances within can be seen on the skin.

Cosmetic acupuncture is a facial rejuvenation treatment that uses acupuncture to create micro-traumas in the skin, which can enhance the production of collagen. Just like regular acupuncture, cosmetic acupuncture also increases blood flow, stimulates the immune responses that reduce inflammation, and can be functional by stimulating specific points that will reduce jaw tension, headaches, or anxiety. The main goals of this treatment are to:

  • help soften lines and wrinkles
  • reduce hyperpigmentation
  • calm redness and inflammation
  • speed up the healing process

Treatment Highlights

As a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, I combine my passion for skincare and my expertise of acupuncture to create an amazing, unique facial experience. The facial will include cleansing, toning and exfoliation to prepare the skin. Facial Gua Sha will be performed to relax the muscles of the face and reduce lymph accumulation. Micro current will be applied to tone and plump the skin. Then cosmetic acupuncture needles will be applied, focusing on the patients main areas of concern. The needles are retained for a period of time during which LED light therapy will be placed over the face and needles while the patient relaxes. 

During a cosmetic acupuncture treatment, we not only treat your face but also use body acupuncture to treat constitutional imbalances. Beautiful and healthy skin starts from within!
